Specialising in mixed media collage and photography, Zory Rubel delves into dreamlike themes, aiming to evoke moments of intimacy within desolate landscapes. Her artworks blend disparate images sourced from various mediums — books, magazines, packaging, and remnants from prior works — with her own photography. With a focus on macro images capturing everyday details like carpet fibres and dried flowers, crafting compositions that blur the lines between inside and outside, internal and external realms.

Zory Rubel is a versatile emerging artist who seamlessly navigates between curatorial roles and collaborative projects. Her involvement extends to co-establishing and aiding in the management of galleries such as WTS Gallery (Leicester) and Surface Gallery (Nottingham), as well as contributing to the design of art festivals like the Summer Art Trail from 2014 to 2016. Amidst these endeavours, she maintains an active engagement with her own artistic journey. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Museum and Gallery Studies at Leicester University, she previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from De Montfort University in 2014.

She was honoured with prestigious awards last year: Leicester Gallery Exhibition Prize, LCB Depot Showcase Award and Contemporary Visual Arts Network East Midlands Mentoring Prize.

And selected to showcase her work in various esteemed exhibitions, including LCB Depot in Leicester throughout 2024, New Walk Museum in Leicester for Open 33 (2024), Surface Gallery in Nottingham for The International Postcard Show (2023 & 2024), and Silver Vine Arts for Encrypted Sounds of Wellbeing (2020).
